We are working on restoring all files. If you find an error or a missing file, please let Sarah Hill know.

Check out the new resource page on Lesson Study (link on left), which will be useful for your class in Winter 2008.

Update November 5, 2007

The front pages of the pre/post tests have now been updated to indicate the maximum possible score for each unit test. Here is a summary for your information:

Unit 1 – 55 points
Unit 2 – 55
Unit 3/4 – 125
Unit 5 – 60
Unit 6 – 70
Unit 7 – 54
Unit 8 – 25
Unit 9 - 145

Please report your raw test scores to Marty.

Note: Tests for Unit 2 have been updated to remove a title on a graph in Prob 1. Please use the new version if you have not already given Unit 2 tests.

Update October 25, 2007

Please check the total score on the pre- and post-tests before you calculate percentages to report to the evaluators. Sound obvious? Yeah....unfortunately the front page of the Unit 1 test says it is a 50 point test, while it is actually a 55 point test. Trust a physics prof to get the totals wrong!!

Student Assessments and grading rubrics for all 9 units are now on the website (behind the login). Year 2 participants must send their parent consent and student assent forms, graded pre-post student tests and the pre-post scoring sheet to Marty Henry. Proteges must send them to Sara Torres. Be sure to send them in as you complete each unit.

Update August 21, 2007

Solutions to unit IX (Electrical Circuits) practice problems are on the website (behind the login). The solutions are upl aded as two files (practices 1-7 and 8-11 - too large to upload as a single file! )

Please note the earlybird registration deadlines posted on the Conferences page. The STOM deadline is Sep 20.

Update August 13, 2007

By now, you should have received your 2007 Physics First CD, Units 1-9. The CDs contain a truckload of information, including the eagerly-awaited PACING GUIDES, which are at the end of each unit, and called “Recommended Timelines” in each table of contents.  Also, please note that Units 1-4 are updated from last year’s version.

Update August 3, 2006

We hope that you have stayed cool since you finished up the Acadmey. I think we did an outstanding job of ordering good weather for you when you were here!

We know that you are anxiously awaiting your A TIME for Physics First CD. The six academy instructors are in the final stages of adding and editing the teacher notes produced by all of you during the academy. We are also "cleaning up" the little bugs that plagued the images in these large files (turned out to be no small task). Our current schedule is to mail the CDs to you next week.

The student assessments for Units 1 and 2 are also undergoing their final edits, and we expect to send them to you in the next couple of weeks too.
